Although you have undoubtedly seen the Mercedes 190 Evolution II, the sad truth is that there are clones and not factory homogation specialty. That’s right, most are made using 190 E and a body armor. But this one sold in Germany, the country of Mercedes-Benz, is represented as number 295 of 502 special cars.
Watch the Porsche 964 Turbo for more information than ever.
This is a rare opportunity for a collector or enthusiast to own one of the very few DTM cars that took the championship in 1991 and 1992. Among the many performance enhancements with four-piston Brembo brakes, stiffer suspension, and a notable aero package that includes a large rear wing.
Also, the main part of the success of the Evo II is said to be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Made by Cosworth, it features more aggressive camshafts, better fuel efficiency than the Evo I, and better fuel consumption. Peak output is rated at 235-horsepower, an impressive amount at the time.
During the race, the cars hit hard with 350-hp. Being a luxury car, this is optioned with several creature comforts that include air conditioning, heated front seats, electric sunroof, and rear speakers.
With only three owners in its history, this Evo II is represented as having been enjoyed in its lifetime. Photos of the exterior, interior, and engine compartment appear to be similar. No major defects are visible.
This could be due to the owner having extensive work done, including refinishing the Blue Black Metallic paint and addressing any mechanical issues.
Currently, the odometer reads 169,000 kilometers or just shy of 105,000 miles. It comes with French registration papers but seems to be stored in Germany. This is supposed to be the secret to the Evolution II, so we hope someone snaps it up soon for $185,000 USD.
