David Coote has denied claims he discussed a yellow card before the game.
The sun The newspaper claims that Coote booked former Leeds player Ezgjan Alioski for a game against West Brom in October 2019, then sent a message to a friend saying: “I hope you have supported me as described.”
Responding to the allegations, Coote said: “I strongly oppose false and defamatory claims. Whatever I may have had in my life has never affected my decisions on the field.
“I have always looked for the integrity of the game at the highest level, refereeing the game impartially and to the best of my ability.”
PGMOL spokesman said Sky Sports news: “The facts must be established considering these serious allegations.
“We follow a zero tolerance policy, which is signed by match officials every year. The PGMOL is committed to taking action against those who break the rules.
“David Coote remains suspended and is subject to PGMOL disciplinary action, separate from the investigation into this matter, which will be carried out independently by the FA.
“We’re not going to say anything else at this point.”
An FA spokesman said Sky Sports news: “These are very serious offenses and we are investigating them urgently.”
Leeds are aware of the recent allegations but do not wish to comment at this time.
