The 1999 cult classic Cruel Intentions has been remade into a new series reboot, starring Sarah Catherine Hook and Zac Burgess as the two siblings at the heart of the story. In an exclusive interview with Filmfare, Sarah, who admitted that she was a big fan of the original, said what a privilege it was to step into the role played by Sarah Michelle Gellar.

“I was a huge fan of the original film. It was an honor to step into these shoes. And luckily, we had amazing actors, Sarah Goodman and Phoebe Fisher, who allowed us to step in, bring new ideas and voices to the roles and encourage us to have our creative freedom. very much.

Zac continued, “It was very intimidating going into such a big production that is obviously a huge cult. But like Sarah just said, everyone was so supportive. We had an amazing production team and we were able to express new ideas and feel free.”

The original film and the reboot are set in two different eras with different audiences. When asked what the audience can expect, Zac replied, “It’s like it’s set in a timeless place. It’s a place where there are no rules. Sarah added, “I love the timeless gift – it’s a great way to put it. And what I love as a fan of Dangerous Liaisons and Cruel Intentions, they cut the beautiful orchestral instruments in the show to make it sound. have these very old points, I feel like I’m raising the issue a lot and agreeing with the original issues.

Sarah also talked about her tough and controlling nature and said there is no way to prepare for such a person except to let yourself go at the moment and build trust with your teammates.

When asked if she has watched Indian films and is ready to work in this industry, a very happy Sarah quickly replied, “One of my favorite films is Slumdog Millionaire. I will go back to that. I want to go to India. Why?
Although Zac couldn’t remember the name of the latest Indian film he watched, he did remember that it had some serious problems. “I don’t remember the last movie I watched, but it was very difficult. I had to stop it from time to time because there was so much going on. But if I had the opportunity to come to India and work, I would definitely take it,” concluded Zac.
