In honor of today’s International Women’s Day, we’ve compiled a list of the powerful voices of Starship women who have made a significant impact in their careers, at our company and beyond. These words are a reminder of the strength, courage, and wisdom of women throughout history, and inspire all of us here at Starship to continue fighting for a just and fair world.
Despite significant progress in recent years, women remain underrepresented in tech and startup industries. According to a report by The World Bank, women make up less than a third of the world’s workforce in technology, and the number is even lower for women of color. The lack of diversity in tech and startup industries is a complex issue with several causes.
One of the challenges women face in tech companies and startups is the lack of female role models and mentors. Women often find it difficult to get support and guidance from other women in the field, which can make it difficult to run companies and create quality work.
Another problem is gender bias. Research has shown that women are often under-represented and under-appreciated in male-dominated fields such as technology. This bias can manifest itself in many ways, from pay inequality to exclusion from important decision-making.
However, many women are breaking through these barriers, fighting back and advocating for greater representation and inclusion in the industry, reflecting the world of technology and startups.
Our Starship women from different corners of the world are a perfect example of this. Let them be your role models and inspire you as we have collected inspirational quotes from many of them. Their words are a reminder that women are strong, resilient, and capable of achieving greatness. So let’s take a moment to reflect on their wisdom and courage as we continue to strive for a just and fair world for all.

“I have suffered from imposter syndrome since day one of my job. Working through imposter syndrome is sometimes not as easy as having a “girl boss mentality.” I am now 7 years old and have to constantly remind myself that if I walk into the room , I should be in that room.”
Andrea Martinez De Carolis, Campus Marketing Manager based in the US
On Registration:
“At times in life, you will find yourself in a position where only one of the following applies: you like the people you work with, you like the work you do, or you like your pay.” We are all human beings who deserve respect, praise, and criticism. It takes time to find boundaries. But trust me, it’s there. If you find yourself searching for the right career path, don’t give up. Be clear about your goals, communicate what you want, and follow through on what you want. The job market is constantly changing, and now is not the time to wait for potential employers to find you. Don’t be afraid to use online tools, software platforms, and your network to improve your skills. “
About My Purpose:
“My goal is to be known as a person who helps others. My work experience began with serving others in restaurants. Then I went to help create financial solutions. I have also helped owners grow their local businesses. Now I’m helping to find strong people to help us expand our services. The role has changed over the years, but the goal has remained clear: to be a steadfast voice in inspiring, motivating, and helping others. “
Gracie Meadows, Recruiter in the US
Female leaders are often described as bossy, difficult, cruel, rude, and opinionated. What it means is that you are confident, asking the right questions, leading with your brain and heart. Don’t let others change or discourage you, be open to change and growth, but be true to yourself. Make bold decisions with patience and stop being a people pleaser.
Teele Kruzman, Head of Service and Delivery in Estonia
“Diversity of ideas and experiences leads to great ideas. No one ever said that there is only one way to eat peanut butter. The whole point of the delicious spread is to make it yourself! It’s the same with the technology industry. My wise mother has been inspiring me since I was a child. If I can do the same, either with an electric screwdriver or peanut butter, count me out.
Sarah Gutierrez, US-based Robotics Engineer
“There’s never a dull day at Starship! Being in such a smart company working on unprecedented projects in the world, means that every employee feels like they’re growing and learning every day. This results in a team of employees who enjoy their jobs, and support each other amazingly!”
There are times when things are difficult, like when we are working on multiple startups on top of our daily work (which has happened recently!), but we are always improving our ways, and seeing our happy customers new cities that love their robots always makes make it worth it!!”
Arianna Namaki, City Marketing from the UK
“Yes, you can,” is my strong girl. When things or life get tough, these words force me to keep breaking through the glass ceiling and living the truth. “
Quyen Huynh, US HR Manager
“I grew up in Mexico for a few years. I didn’t know how hard it was to be a woman and live in fear every day, and I didn’t know how hard it would be to get promoted for being a woman. I hope that women can have the same rights all over the world. We deserve the same opportunity and respect”
Elda Velazquez, Director of the US Service Team
