“My parents taught me the importance of hard work, honesty and fairness. I took the three things and put them to work. Treat people as you would have them treat you and be honest with them. I take good care of my employees, and they really appreciate it. It’s like a family atmosphere here, which is really good. It’s fun to come to work,” Knollmeyer says.

From Contractor to Business

Knollmeyer’s journey in construction began as a teenager when he worked with a general contractor in high school. This early exposure sparked his interest in the industry, leading him to work as an engineer for three years and then as a general contractor for another five years.

Knollmeyer has dedicated more than 45 years to the construction industry, establishing himself as a well-known figure in the industry. In 1991, he founded Knollmeyer Building Corporation, marking the beginning of his business career. He has also been the president of the organization since the company’s inception.

Since 2001, Knollmeyer has also been president of Greylock Roofing Co. Inc., a roofing company located in North Andover, Massachusetts. His experience and leadership have greatly contributed to the success and growth of both companies.

Greylock Roofing Co. Inc. it is now led by Knollmeyer’s daughter, something he is very proud of. The success and recognition of the company exemplifies the dedication of its well-known employees and positive feedback from valued customers.

Devotion to Others

Throughout his career, Knollmeyer has achieved success with an esteemed clientele that includes prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Museum of Fine Arts and Symphony Hall.

Knollmeyer’s commitment to nonprofit organizations is invaluable. He has supported affordable housing projects and collaborated on the Pine Street Inn in Boston and Project Hope projects. These actions reflect his passion for giving back to the community and helping those in need.

Knollmeyer’s commitment to integrity, fairness, and a work ethic stems from the valuable lessons imparted by his father.
