Stormwatch was the last piece in the Bands Folk-Rock Trilogy after The Wood from the Wood in 1977 and the release of Heavy Horse in 1978. It is the last Top album for the classic line-up of the 1970s. Bassist John Glascalk, at this point, suffers from the effects of a heart transition that eventually leads their death, depicted on only three tracks (“Flying Dutchman”, “Orion”, and “Eligi”). Ian Anderson played bass somewhere else in the album, while Dave Peg played on a latter tour. Drummer Barimore Barlow and keyboard players John Ivan and D Palmer left the band on the Stormwatch Tour next year.
