At Starship Technologies, integration and diversity are more than just words; it is ingrained in our circumstances. This year, we are excited to receive these awards and announce that we are participating in the historic and world famous LA Pride Parade!

For the first time ever, our team and Starship Robots will be proudly marching in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. It is a deep reflection of our unwavering support and commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace where every employee can be as successful as they are.

As our Starship robots roam the streets of Los Angeles, we want to give a shout out to LA Pride. This exciting event fits well with our recent launch: “We love that you’re different, it makes us unique.” By participating in the Pride Parade, we are not only adopting this important value but reaffirming our commitment to fostering a workplace where everyone feels empowered to be their true self.

To facilitate participation in this prestigious event, we have carefully selected three distinguished Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) ambassadors. These amazing people have shared important information about what Pride means to them and why they enjoy marching alongside the LGBTQ+ community.

Through their thoughtful responses, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of what we share and the importance of Starship’s presence at the Pride Parade. We invite you to join us as we celebrate diversity, embrace inclusion, and demonstrate our commitment to building a just and accepting world.

Meet Quyen Huynh (He/She), US Human Resource Manager:

  1. What inspired you to join the Pride Parade?
  • I choose to march in the Pride Parade every year to celebrate and honor LGBTQ+ communities, voices, and history.

2. Why do you need to participate in this event?

  • Representation is an issue. As a first-generation student and the child of immigrant parents – who decided to push herself into other minorities by identifying as gay and marrying a deaf woman, I had a lot going for me when it came to coming out. adventure (if you don’t know)! Jokes aside, it was scary and at times, overwhelming not being able to relate to my three high school roommates because my story seemed so different from the rest. This happened until I went to my first Pride Parade in Seattle in 2012. Seattle’s Pride Parade is where I met many Asian Americans who face the same problems as myself (…coming out of their parents, being found by the family. and kicked out of the house, and the list continues). Now THAT was our exit story that was between two brushes; Of course, it may not make sense to many, but it made sense to us. Pride has allowed me to find a home I never knew I had. Pride gave me voice again. It is important for me (and my wife) to use the words we have, to show that we are our own and to restore the rights and freedoms that were and are still being denied, to the generations of queers & gay babies who are still finding their rights. words. Visibility is so important that participation is essential to the Pride process.

3. What do you mean that Starship gave you the opportunity to be the leader of this event?

4. What does Pride mean to you?

  • Pride represents love and acceptance, giving our people the freedom to identify and express themselves while promoting equality, transparency, and fairness.

Meet Reid Zura (He/She), Global Social Media Expert:

  1. What inspired you to join the Pride Parade?
  • I am joining Starship in the Pride Parade to celebrate and embrace who I am and raise the voice of LGBTQ+ people around the world. Pride Parades are a powerful platform for visibility, acceptance, and solidarity. It’s an opportunity to show my pride, and to promote equality and LGBTQ+ rights around the world.

2. Why do you need to participate in this event?

  • I have participated in another Pride event in the past, last year’s NYC Pride Parade. For the first time in my life, I felt what it means to be part of a large group that shares common experiences, challenges, and aspirations. I can connect with other people who have faced multiple challenges by simply being who they are and celebrating our shared courage. Secondly, I have the opportunity to participate in this event because it is a great opportunity. We live in a world where people ignore or ignore abusive language. I’m there for those who can’t, and I believe that participating in the Pride Parade helps people to be visible and aware of LGBTQ+, which helps to fight for equal rights and the progress of society.

3. What do you mean that Starship gave you the opportunity to be the leader of this event?

  • Walking with my colleagues and representing our company, sends a strong message of inclusion and support. It shows that my workplace values diversity and accepts employees for who they are, regardless of gender. The fact that I have been chosen to lead this event is a great honor. It shows that my company not only sees me as an employee but also recognizes the importance of LGBTQ+ representation and inclusion. It means that they are committed to promoting an inclusive and supportive workplace so that employees can come to their senses and work for themselves. Being given this position makes me feel empowered and respected, and it also helps me feel like I belong in a group.

4. What does Pride mean to you?

  • To me, Pride is a celebration of truth, courage, and progress. It represents the freedom to love and express our feelings without fear or shame. Pride is a reminder of the struggles and sacrifices of those who came before us, who fought for LGBTQ+ rights and paved the way for acceptance and equality. But it also represents a call to action that we cannot do. It also represents a call to action, encouraging us all to continue working towards a future where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equal rights, regardless of gender or sexuality.

As we eagerly prepare to march in LA Pride, we are filled with joy, purpose, and unity. This milestone moment for Starship Technologies represents our unwavering commitment to celebrating diversity and promoting inclusion.

Through the words of our DEI ambassadors, we have gained valuable insight into what Pride means to them, and their enthusiasm for the event is contagious. Their stories and thoughts have deepened our understanding of the importance of Pride and the importance of standing up for the LGBTQ+ community.

As we move boldly forward, we invite you to join us in celebrating diversity, embracing inclusion, and promoting a world where everyone is accepted for who they are. Together, let’s create a future where love, respect, and acceptance know no bounds.

We are very proud to participate in the LA Pride Parade for the first time, and we hope that our presence will be a sign of hope, inspiring others to lead diversity and create workplaces and communities where everyone can thrive.

The journey is just beginning. Together, we will continue to promote a world where conflict is celebrated, and love overcomes prejudice.

Starship is honored to participate in the Pride Parade, and we look forward to sharing this amazing event with you. Let’s make history together and pave the way for a bright and inclusive future.
