The 11 Best Movies We’ve Reviewed, Plus Buying Tips (2024)

There are so many amazing TVs available now, there’s a good chance even the ones that didn’t make our top picks might be the best option for you. Here are some of our favorites that just missed the cut.

TCL Q6 (2024): This affordable model from TCL has some of the most impressive features I’ve seen on a budget TV without a good local squeeze. I really like how good the colors are, especially when I watch old fashioned ones like this Dune or Mad Max Fury Road. Google-designed screens make moving and swiping a breeze, and TCL has a reputation for making premium screens that are stable, so you don’t have to jump through the cracks on your shopping spree.

Sony Bravia 7: Bravia 7 (7/10, WIRED Recommends) is a beautiful display, offering bright light, natural colors, and vivid detail. Its biggest knock is the lackluster viewing experience, which can be hard to swallow at its high price. Otherwise, it’s worth considering for Sony light fans, especially since Sony seems to be getting rid of several models.

TCL QM7: There is only one thing that is keeping QM7 safe (6/10, WIRED Reviewed) off our main list: software glitches. In my review, I ran into an issue where changing the brightness of the SDR backlight affected HDR, which could result in a very bright scene. Although TCL fixed this issue in the firmware update for me, it is not available yet. Most people may not have this issue, so the QM7 is worth considering, and TCL is expecting a firmware update in December.

Samsung S95C: Figure S95C8/10, WIRED Recommends) remains an interesting choice while you’re at it. It may be a better option for those who don’t want or need the 2024’s display. It still stands as one of the best OLED TVs you can buy, especially for its premium price.

Samsung QN90C: Another big one is Samsung’s QN90C (8/10, WIRED Recommends) was one of our favorite TVs in the living room. It is available in a variety of sizes and offers a bright and clear picture with many advantages, especially attractive considering its ever-decreasing price.
