Hull City have sacked manager Tim Walter after just 18 games.
Hull were beaten 2-0 by Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night and are now without a win in nine games, sitting in the middle of the Championship.
The club finished seventh last season, three points outside the play-offs, but sacked manager Liam Rosenior in May before appointing Walter, who has won three of 17 league games and also oversaw defeat in the Carabao Cup.
Assistant coaches Julian Hubner and Filip Tapalovic have also left the team.
First-team coach Andy Dawson has been appointed as interim manager while the club “advances the process of recruiting a permanent replacement”.
Hull added: “We would like to thank Tim, Julian and Filip for their efforts at the MKM Stadium and wish them well for the future.
Dawson: It’s always been difficult for Walter
The past City of Hull defender – and brother of long-time boss Alan Dawson – Michael Dawsonto speak with Sky Sports news:
“You see where Hull were last season, missing the play-offs by three points and the job Liam Rosenior did. Look at the squad and the squad they had – you have to bring out Jacob Greaves, Tyler Morton, Jaden Philogene. , Fabio Carvalho, Liam Delap It’s always difficult for Walter to get in.
“You see where they are now. I watched them against Sheffield Wednesday, it wasn’t good. At the end of the day we know football and managers are hired and fired and when results don’t go well, you pay the price.
“My brother will stand up like this against Middlesborough. I spoke to him, we had a chat. It’s difficult for him, he’s been in the game for a long time, we know it can happen.
“It will go back to work and look to try to improve things because, where they were last year, such a drop is very disappointing.”
