Another legal problem may arise The Onions ask to buy Infowars Empire from the troubled journalist Alex Jones. X challenged the restrictions on the transfer of infowars’ X sued the social media empire in federal bankruptcy court on Monday.
The plaintiffs allege that X Corporation’s bylaws state that “the Trustee may not sell, assign or transfer the license without X Corp.’s consent,” according to court documents.
X Corporation names its own unity in its opposition. The TOS states that accounts may not be transferred, gifted, sold or transferred to third parties “without X’s written consent.”
“Because X’s accounts are governed by the TOS, the TOS indicates that X’s accounts are the ‘exclusive property of X Corp.,'” according to X’s court filing.
Jones goods included Infowars The website was put up for sale earlier this month to raise nearly $1.5 billion in damages from a lawsuit filed by family members of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Jones was found guilty of spreading rumors about victims’ relatives that the Sandy Hook shooting was staged as a false flag attack.
The Onions parent company he went in to buy Infowars estate after getting permission from the families to accept a small amount and leave a portion of the sales to pay off some of Jones’s debts. Onion CEO Ben Collins announced the deal and the newspaper’s plans to turn Infowars.com into “the funniest, goofiest website.”
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez halted the deal, requiring evidence to review the sale process. Sales manager Christopher Murray said in court that Global Tetrahedron’s price was not very high but the sale price included a legal clause stating their agreement with the families. He said Monday that Lopez will hear arguments about the trustee’s sale Infowars to Onions on December 9 or 17 to ensure a “fair and transparent process.”
